In Northamptonshire
I am in Northamptonshire for a few days. Its a small missional communities conference for about 30 leaders, sponsored by CMS. Going really well. We went out in the evening for a drink at Princess Di's old pub - the Althorp Coaching Inn just down the road from her family spread.

Wow - they actually call it Diana Country! That's, er, classy.
(Strangely, I live just around the corner and no one I know calls it that.)

how come all you groovy in crowd mission heads that actualy get paid to mission get to go to a gathering like that - while those of us that mission out here on the edges in their communities and have a day job and need desperately to be in conversation with others because they don't have the luxury of support from a denomination or a mission organisation always seem to be left out here on our own to flounder and fend for ourselves - i would so die to be there in northampton just to feel normal and like i am not going crazy and to listen and learn from others - i am cross because it seems SO unfair, even amongst Christians !!! i am happy for you to be there - just don't rub it in eh?!

i hear ya, julie. and to make it worse, we hold these events during the week so day-job holders like you cant make it.
and to be honest, there are a lot of denomination/mission leaders like you described here and not many of the on-the-ground folk. although some of the stories this morning about helping drug addicts and street people would have been down your alley.
not sure what to say except . .. i do hear what you are saying.
